Getting started

From an empty company to your first invoice, in the order that saves you rework.

1. Company details

Enter your company name, address, VAT number and bank account under Settings. They appear on every quote and invoice and in the e-invoice.

2. Chart of accounts

Start from the standard chart and adjust it, or rebuild the chart your accountant uses. Check which accounts are used for debtors, creditors, revenue and VAT.

3. VAT setup

Set your VAT rates and codes and the boxes of your return, so the return follows your own jurisdiction.

4. Products and services

Add what you sell, with price and VAT rate. Import them from a file if you have many.

5. Customers and suppliers

Add or import them, with country and VAT number. The VAT treatment of each invoice follows from these.

6. Users and rights

Invite your colleagues, give each a role, and decide who can see cashflow and approve payments. Add your accountant.

7. Opening balances

Choose the date your books start and enter the opening balances as a manual entry.

8. First quote and invoice

Write a quote, have it signed, convert it to an invoice and check the entry in the journal.

Next: set up purchase invoice approval and bring in your bank data.
